Founded in 1923, the Kansas City Kansas Community College is located in Kansas City. It is a public community college accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association and the Kansas Board of Reagents. It was initially formed as a Public School System in 1923 before gaining its current name in 1979 from a legislative action. Since then, this has been a center of Career and Technical Training.

Admission to the college is easy. One is required to fill out an application which is then returned to the Office of Admission. The college allows admission for persons who have graduated from accredited high school or over the legal age of 18 and has passed their GED exams. The Admission & Records Office is situated in J. Paul Jewell Student Center, 7250 State Avenue. The normal office hours are from 8.00am to 7.30pm on Monday through Thursday, 4.30pm on Friday and noon on Saturday.
