Though the Harry S.Truman library in Kansas is among the 12 Presidential Libraries created in 1955 under a special Act, it was the first of such libraries. The library offers plenty to seekers of knowledge on the personal history of the President as well as how the Presidential office works.
The personal history of Truman, which you can access at the library will tell you how an obscure politician in the local area, and one who had failed in business worked his way right to the top most position in the United States of America, and eventually became the most popular president ever.
The presidential library was born out of Truman's wish that his library should help people get a closer view of American Presidency as well as American history. Even the refurbished Oval office at the library is an exact replica of the White house establishment. President Truman was responsible for making the sign "the buck stops here" famous throughout America and the world and you will find this sign in the Oval Office
The library holds over 14 million pages manuscript, 94,000 photographs, apart from several hours of audio recordings and motion film. Scholars and students from around the globe arrive at the library regularly to research on the various aspects of U.S.Presidency.
You can join these seekers of knowledge when you travel to Kansas City.
