Kansas City, a flourishing economic and cultural center located at the heart of the United States is the largest city in Missouri. It was at first a trading post and then a river port settlement. It was recognized as trading post in 1821.
It was serving as the starting point for wagon trains that headed to Santa Fe in California and Oregon trails. It then emerged as the nation's center for cattle stockyards and butchery houses.
Since it straddles in the border between the Missouri and Kansas at the convergence of the Kansas and Missouri rivers it was considered an apt place to make settlements. It became a battleground for the American Civil War when the area was thrown opened to Euro- American settlement.
Kansas City, Missouri was integrated authoritatively in 1853 on the banks of the Missouri River. But the Kansas City, Kansas was integrated in October 1872.
The city of Kansas progressed after the Civil War in the form of a connection in the international railroad system that led to flourishing grains, stock along with meat packing businesses. It has many historically remarkable landscapes and fascinating buildings.
During the 20th century the city earned a national fame for its distinguishing architecture, boulevard structure, and modernizations in metropolitan redevelopment. Its growth continued to the 21st century and now the Kansas City has turned out to be the third hottest city for the expansion in the field of business in US.
