The Kansas City Museum has been built on an area of 3 acres and it is also recognized by the moniker R. A. Long House. This is in honor of Robert A. Long who was a lumber empire owner and also a civic leader back in the day. There are a number of exhibits and displays most of which pertain to the history and development of the region through the region.

One can see great cultural icons such as the soda fountains of the early 1900s as well as a beautiful planetarium.
