Situated in Swope Park, the Kansas City Zoo was established in 1909 and by the year 2010 it houses over 1300 animals. It offers entertainment in its adjacent IMAX Theater. It is open all year round, from 9.30 a.m. to 4 o'clock, Monday to Friday and closes at 5 p.m. on weekends. Tickets are available on the JAZOO fund raiser for only 6 US Dollars. Besides, there is the free tram ride to African animal destinations.
