1) Admissions Manager
Kansas City Zoo needs one Admissions Manager for day-to-day operation of guest relations and admissions. This full time position may require weekends and some evenings due to the onerous duties and responsibilities. To qualify for the position, college degree and three to five years of management experience are preferred. Additional requirements are put toward: physical effort, basic skills, decision making & supervision abilities and EQ.

2) Director of Guest Services
This is a full time position with benefits. The overall function is to manage and direct guest service operations for the zoo, including admissions, food & beverages, retail and rides. To apply for the position, Bachelor's degree and 5-year management experience are favored. Practical experience can work in lieu degree. 3) Food & Beverage Manager
The Food & Beverage Manager takes charge of the operations of the Food & Beverage Department at the Kansas City Zoo. 4) PR & Marketing Manager
PR & Marketing Manager for Kansas City Zoo manages essential pieces of zoo's public relations and marketing plan. The position puts focus on organization and relationship building. 5) Retail Assistant Manager
The main duty for Retail Assistant Manager is to assist Retail Operations Manager in everyday operations of gifts shops at the zoo, with a purpose to provide excellent customer service and maximize profits. A valid driver's license and excellent leadership skills are required. Other requirements include 2-year related supervisory experience and high school degree or equivalents.

6) Seasonal Assistant Reservationist (part-time)
An Assistant Reservationist works for dissemination and performance of educational programs, including the assistance of school groups during field trips at the zoo. 7) Storeroom Manager (full-time year-around position with benefits)

2) Registered Veterinary Technician Internship
Applicants for this internship position must be graduates or currently working in an accredited registered veterinary technology program. Two positions are available. The deadline for the applications is March 15. The position runs from May through August.

3) Veterinary Preceptorship
To be a qualified candidate, you must receive credit via the veterinary school. After hiring, the preceptor can gain first-hand experience with the direction of veterinary staff in medicine, surgery and phlebotomy and more. Each intern will work about 6 to 8 weeks.

The last step is to attend a 2-hour orientation and additional training may be essential for certain programs. Please note that you may need to pay a fee for most volunteer program for your volunteer shirt, name badge and training materials.
