Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun are the twin theme parks awaiting your arrival when you travel Kansas City. Worlds of fun with 235 acres is filled with attractions and rides. This theme park which debuted in 1973 centers around 'Around the world in 80 days' a book by Jules Veme. At the park, you can travel to different continents like Africa, Europe, Asia and of course America, without ever leaving the park! Over 100 rides including 6 roller coasters, kids' adventures, and live entertainment will enhance your experience of travel in Kansas City MO.

The opening of the $322 million Worlds of Fun also synchronized with a number of other modernization projects for Kansas City, including the Kansas City International airport. The Bartle Hall and Kemper Arena are among the other major projects which opened around the same time that the Worlds of Fun debuted.

Nearly 10 years later, in 1982 the Oceans of Fun opened next door to the Worlds of Fun and was acclaimed as the largest water park in the world at that time. Another 10 years went by before the two theme parks were linked in 1992.

Among the major attractions at the Oceans of fun are dozens of water slides, an enormous wave pool with a capacity of 1,000,000 gallons of water, a series of other aquatic products, and more housed across a sprawling real estate of 60 acres. Among tropically themed water parks, the Oceans of fun continues to be the largest in the region.

An alluring feature about these twin parks is that it offers a complete fun experience across all ages. And, since staying closer to this action packed spot in Kansas City the Worlds of Fun also opened their first ever on site resort.

Located very close to the park visitors can choose from a variety of accommodation options including cottages and cabins. Larger families are bound to find this even more attractive since each cottage/cabin can accommodate up to 8 people.
