Though Baseball is the more popular sports for Kansas, Soccer and Hockey are also in the forefront of Kansas sports. The Kansas City Chiefs, founded in 1963 under the umbrella of NFL play at the Arrowhead Stadium while the Kansas City Wizards founded in 1995 play for the Major League Soccer at the Community America Ball Park (KCK).

Kansas City Royals founded in 1969 and the Kansas City T-Bones founded in 2006 are the two teams representing Kansas Baseball. The Kansas City Royals are affiliated to the Major League Baseball and call the Kauffman Stadium home. The Kansas City T-Bones is affiliated to the Northern League and the Community America Ball Park (KCK) is the home ground for the team.

To add further impetus to sporting activities in Kansas a new Sprint Center arena was added in 2007. The facility is expected to finalize a franchise soon either from the NHL or NBA or perhaps both of them.
