Kansas City has a number of exciting offerings for travelers of all age groups and interest areas. Those who want to spend time in Kansas City with families should try the Kansas City Zoo. The Kansas City Zoological Park, as it is formally known has been built in the Swope Park over a land area of 202 acres, which gives it the distinction of being the 10th in the list of the biggest zoos in the United States of America. The year 2008 saw the zoo being voted as one of the premier institutions of its kind in the country.
The zoo is known for some of the most extensive exhibits such as the Australian Animals and Exhibits category. The African Animals and Exhibits section has been voted one of the best of its kind, with one of the most diverse collections of African animals from all over.
The zoo is now 101 years old in the year 2010, having been opened to public on the 13th of December 1909.
