As an amusement park in Kansas City, the Worlds of Fun is definitely a great source of entertainment. Opened on May 26th, 1973, now it is going to celebrate its 39th season in 2011. With so many attractions and facilities situated inside the park, the WOF can ensure people of all ages a fun, engaging and memorable experience. For toddlers who are just too young to ride big roller coasters, the WOF also offers them an area to have a complete blast - the Camp Snoopy.

Actually, the WOF is set up into five sections: Africa, Americana, Europa, Scandinavia and the Orient. It also includes an attached water paradise which is known as the Oceans of Fun. Plus, an on-site resort - the Worlds of Fun Village is available for visitors from everywhere.

You trip would be surely worth your time and money. Before your departure, just remember that the WOF will be closed in certain period and its operation hours change a lot from time to time. As a result, visitors really need to know about its hours to plan trips accordingly.

Since the Worlds of Fun and the Oceans of Fun are independent of each other, their operation hours are totally different. Let's begin with the opening hours of Worlds of Fun.

At present, the WOF's official website only publishes opening hours of the Worlds of Fun from the last half of April to October. In April, the WOF would be closed most of the time. It's only available on weekends. And it will open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays. On April 17th, 2011, the Worlds of Fun opens at 10 a.m. but closes as early as 7 p.m. When it comes to April 24th, its opening hours are from 12 a.m. to 7 p.m.

May: The Worlds of Fun is unavailable from May 2nd through 6th. Plus, it would also be closed on 15th. On Saturdays and 29th, it opens from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. As for May Day (May 1st) and Mother's Day (May 8th), the WOF would be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. It's scheduled to open at 9 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. from 9th to 13th. Then its operation hours from 16th to 19th would begin at 10 a.m. and end at 6 p.m. On 20th as well as 27th, it also opens at 10 a.m. but does not close until 9 p.m. From 22nd through 26th, 30th and 31st, its opening time is at 10 a.m. and closing time is at 8 p.m.

June: The first two days of June, the WOF would be available from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Then it would open at 10 a.m. and close at 9 p.m. from 3rd to 9th, except the 4th when its opening hours are from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Visitors would be welcome into the park from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. the rest of this month excluding on Saturdays when longer operation hours are available. You can undoubtedly get sufficient time to ride the roller coasters as many times as you like since the Worlds of Fun would open from 10 a.m. until midnight on 11th, 18th and 25th.

July: July is really a great time for you to take a trip to the Worlds of Fun as it would open for at least 12 hours per day in this month. Normally, the WOF opens from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day. But when it comes to Fridays and Independence Day (July 4th), you will be allowed to stay at the park from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Better still, on Saturdays as well as 3rd, its operation hours are extended to midnight.

August: The Worlds of Fun would be closed from 22nd to 26th and on 29th, 30th and 31st. It will open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. most of the time. But on 21st, 28th and from 15th to 18th, its opening time is at 10 a.m. while closing time is at 7 p.m. Chance for you to stay in the park until midnight is only available on 6th.

September: The WOF would not open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. As for Mondays, it is only available on Labor Day (September 5th) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It's also about to be closed on 9th. Even if it's open to the public, the opening hours vary a lot by date. As they are so irregular, we just put them in a list for you to get a better understanding.

- 2nd & 16th: from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

- 3rd, 4th and 10th: from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

- 11th: from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

- 17th: from 11 a.m. to midnight

- 18th & 25th: from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

- 23rd & 30th: from 6 p.m. to midnight

- 24th: from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.

October: Visitors would be only allowed to get into the park on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. And its operating hours would begin at 11 a.m. and end until 1 a.m. on Saturdays. When it comes to Friday, the WOF would be available from 6 p.m. to midnight. On Sundays, you can enjoy an exciting day at the park from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. except on 30th when the WOF would not close until 9 p.m.

For those who are looking forward to spending a thrilling and unforgettable day at the Oceans of Fun, the WOF would surely not let them down. Various water rides are located there waiting for you to scream your heads off. Just remember to take a glance of the opening hours of Oceans of Fun to make sure you will be welcomed into the ocean when you arrive.

By now, we can only find its hour's information from May to September. From May 27th through June 3rd, the Oceans of Fun would open at 11 a.m. and close at 6 p.m.

June: Most of the time, the Oceans of Fun would open from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. this month. On 11th, 18th and 25th, its opening hours would be extended to 8 p.m. But from 27th to 30th, it will still close at 7 p.m. but opens an hour earlier.

July: This month, visitors can stay at the Oceans of Fun from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day except Saturdays when it would be open to the public until 8 p.m.

August: The Oceans of Fun would be closed on 29th, 30th, 31st and from 22nd to 26th. From 1st to 13th, it will open at 10 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. excluding Saturdays when its operation hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. On 14th, it would play host to visitors from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. But on 27th and from 15th through 20th, the opening hours would be put off of one hour. You will be welcomed to the ocean at 11 a.m. and can stay there until 7 p.m. On 21st and 28th, you will have to get out of the ocean a little earlier as it only opens from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

September: The Oceans of Fun is going to be closed for a very long period in this month. As a result, it is only available for visitors from 3rd to 5th. During its opening days, its operation hours are from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

There are a couple of roller coasters and rides you can find inside the Worlds of Fun.

Boomerang - You will be surely at the risk of being disoriented if you get on this ride since it will pull you backward and forward again and again in loops.

Mamba - As a main roller coaster of the Worlds of Fun, the Mamba is considered as a landmark in this area. You can even see it when you drive from 435. It will offer you a chance to experience big drop and zero gravity for a number of times.

Prowler - This wooden facility is perfect for all kinds of ultimate thrill seekers as its speed would be up to 51 meters per hour. It's strongly recommended to think twice before getting on it.

- April 15th - 16th, 2011: Visitors will be welcomed to camp outside the park's gates and wait for the opening of its 39th season on Saturday, April 16th. Campers would only be charged 14.99 dollars for admission and can enjoy free snacks as well as many other benefits.

- July 16th, 2011: The WOF would offer discounted admission fees for visitors and have a special display as well as some live shows held inside the park on the 5th annual Deaf and Hard of Hearing Awareness Day.

- July 16th, 2011: There would be a grand music event going on at the WOF. It would invite famous performers like Skillet, Finding Favour, TobyMac and 10th Avenue North.
